GUEST POST: Whanau Ora, and The Seabed and Foreshore Act review

timwikiriwhi A guest post by Tim Wikiriwhi
“NO MAN’S LIFE, LIBERTY or property are safe while the legislature is in session,” said Mark Twain. With all the political wheeling and dealing now going on between the unscrupulous politicians of the National and Maori Parties, this observation is more true now than ever.

Two very important legislative changes are about to be implemented as part of this political bargaining and bribery: the Maori Party’s Whanau Ora scheme, and the review of the Seabed and Foreshore act.

Now it may be true that the Seabed and Foreshore act is bad legislation and in need of repeal, yet it does not automatically follow that what the shysters of National and the Maori Party are proposing is a step towards greater justice. I see it as just another grab by covetous racists for money, property and power at the expense of New Zealanders as a whole.

THE SHYSTERS' PROPOSAL IS founded upon Political Machiavellianism, on sell-your-grandmother politics, and a corrupt and false interpretation of the Treaty of Waitangi—in particular, that the Treaty is a separatist document implying a “Partnership” rather than unity and equality.
Thus the first step in this process of extortion has been to rewrite the Treaty and history in such a way as to vindicate racist law, politics and power—and the naked wealth-grab now being effected.

Any attempt by individuals to call the government to account on this fundamental dishonesty is simply ignored. It is a bitter irony and a badge of stupidity that New Zealanders today swallow the line that imaginary racial injustices of the past can be rectified by blatant ones today!

If the media wanted to redeem itself it should set about to raise the truth about these documents so the New Zealanders may get a better view of what the real Treaty means.

That the Chiefs of New Zealand knew they were signing away their sovereignty is clear from the fact that Paramount Chief Te Hue Hue refused to sign it as well as Te Whero Whero . . . because it would make him subordinate to a woman, Queen Victoria.

It is worth noting that the proposal to grant Maori Customary Title to the seabed and foreshore violates the principle of equality under British common law guaranteed in the third article of the treaty, in that it robs them of their rights to sell their property, should they wish, to anyone other than the Queen; and in maintaining ownership of Maori land in  collective, rather than individual, hands.

The current proposal is an entrenchment of perpetual communist tribalism…a continued enslavement of individual Maori by their tribal lords.

I strongly suspect the racists of the Maori Party are happy to accept the legislation that gives iwi leaders so-called “customary” property rights now, knowing they can bag full rights over these massive assets at a latter date. That next step being rather simple after they had customary rights recognised. Have no doubt that this will be their next demand. In the process the rest of New Zealand will have been robbed of billions of dollars of assets and be forced to submit to gross extortions should they desire to get into aquaculture, tourism, or fishing as these assets will be locked up in perpetuity under the control of a Maori Browntable.

New Zealanders have been sold the lie and gullibly believe not only that the Treaty guaranteed Maori such property rights, but that prior to the Treaty Maori actually had such customary rights.

The truth, however, is that prior to the Treaty Maori were not a united people but existed in anarchy—recognising only the “right” of conquest, not customary rights or anything like them, and so war was king and property was only held by violence. Thus I say the whole business is corrupt, corrupt, corrupt!
It is robbing all New Zealanders via anti-historical and racist political deals.

AS FOR WHANAU ORA, it too is founded upon the false and separatist notion of “partnership” erroneously supposed to be part of the Treaty. How much will it cost? I have herd estimates as high as 1 billion dollars annually, a staggering figure that dwarfs the supposed 1 billon dollar cap that once existed on treaty settlements in total.

National are saying the funds will come from existing budgets, which if true shows that Whanau Ora is systematic racial segregation—presumably meaning that welfare funds currently available to everyone will be reduced without a drop in their tax burdens. So much for One Law For All! Maori will occupy more beds in hospitals, get more operations etc etc.—simply by virtue of being Maori—which cannot be other than bad for race relations in New Zealand, further entrenching Maori as the basket cases of the nation: surviving in an abyss of welfare dependency, harbouring a mindset that comes to despise their Non-Maori family, friends, and neighbours who are paying for them.

This result suits the scum of the Maori Party perfectly, who need a constituency reliant upon them to keep delivering the goods, and it suits Quislings like John Key who are all too willing to support that bargain to forge another one with the Maori Party that keeps himself in power!

I ask how it is that the people of New Zealand can be so gullible, so complacent in the face of such corruption in their Parliament???

THESE TWO PIECES OF legislation must be fought.
These two parties must be removed from power.

We must reform our Parliament and Laws by dumping the separatist seats and all race-based laws and institutions.

We need a new constitution of equality that makes these types of charlatan politics illegal.

Well said Tim.
Racially based development under some idiotic notion of 'partnership', is apartheid, and can only lead to further racism and division.
This blend of racism and pragmatism, will ensure this country moves further towards third world status.
The empire building antics of racists, while contemptible, are less so than the 'anything to hold power' pragmatism of this Key led govt.
Any Nats wanting to defend this?

Absolutely! The Labour Government confiscated the judicial rights of Maori with their legislation. What National is doing now is not perfect, but it is an improvement, and restores the rights that were lost.

Similarly, Whanau Ora - you may quibble that this entrenches the feudalist Maori structure, but my counterargument is that, as a pakeha, it is not my responsibility to take up the fight against that. It is up to Maori themselves, and I am happy to help the fight if help is required. However, anything which takes sovereignty away from a centralised government and devolves it to Maori, whether as individuals or as a collective, is a positive thing. It then becomes their responsibility to sort things out, rather than the Nanny State. Such responsibility will lead to greater scrutiny and accountability by Maori themselves.

@Blair:

1. Foreshore & Seabed: What National is doing now is not only not an improvement, it's corrupt.

If it simply effected privatisation--alienable, individual property titles--that would be an improvement, and foreshore and seabed could end up in the hands of those who value it the most.

If they simply allowed everyone their day in court (whatever their colour) to prove their ownership on the basis of common law, then that would be an improvement, and would lean to an increased understanding of the common law protections that the Treaty was supposed to have brought to NZ.

But instead they propose to introduce an ill-defined and non-existent right (customary title) that will wipe out real rights, in a manner that supports Maori feudalism and leaves us all worse off.

That's absolutely dumb.

2: Whanau Ora: You say "you may quibble that this entrenches the feudalist Maori structure." Blair, your current party is not only not fighting race-based feudalism, it's forcing you (and me) to prop up its continued existence.

And you're "absolutely" happy with that.

Says everything, really.

I am forced to pay for Whanau Ora. I don't want to pay for it. I'd rather keep the money I earned by my productive efforts.

Since you like this National Socialist rort so much, YOU and like minded people, should be volunteering to pay for it. Put your hand in YOUR pocket and give- give until it hurts, then give more. You deserve nothing less.

Thank you Tim for that excellent article. The key piece for me was your correctly pointing out that Maori activists know that they can bag full rights over these massive assets at a latter date.

If the Maori party were to simply say "give us the right to rule new Zealand and its people and own all their assets right now" there would be hell to pay - so they just package it up in large chunks and incrementally gain control of the country which has been built for them.

The amazing thing from my perspective is that as a society we all seem quite willing to go along with it. I am no National voter and I have always warned to be wary of what this prick Key will do to the country.... but this latest piece of theft, lying and treasonous arse licking has taken even me by surprise.

THIS HAS GOT TO STOP.... But how can we go about it? The country as a whole doesn't seem to give a shit.

Nice to see you back, Tim.

Blair, the folly of devolving sovereignty to a collective was a large part of what Tim had to say.

Anyone connected with the National Party needs to share the blame for this pandering to savages, using my money and the money of other people who sure as hell wouldn't want it spent propping up primeval tribalism.

Hey Tim

Good to see you. You know how I feel about the racist seats. Once these are gone, and they will be gone one day, a major source of the poison will go with them.

John Key has taken Winston Peters crown for being New Zealand’s greatest traitor of the new millennium. Peters dirty dealing with the despicable Helen Clark for the Baubles of power was previously the single most corrupt election bargaining to date that perpetuated New Zealand apartheid in that it thwarted Don Brash’s attempt to dump the Maori seats and get one Law for all New Zealanders. This has now been surpassed by the backstabbing Key who is responsible for reversing the Brash policies, and jumping straight into bed with the ex Labour Party Racists…Turia and co, whom were jettisoned from Labour as a direct consequence of Nationals meteoric rise under Brash from complete devastation to threatening to oust the Clark government on the policy of one Law for all NZ esp in relation to the Sea bed and foreshore. Clark stole that election.
Remember that it was a separatist treaty grab for Marlborough sounds aquaculture loot that spawned Clarks the sea bed and foreshore legislation designed to save her a massive loss in the general seats to Brash… a move that was unacceptable to the racists she had been entertaining in her midst. This is the very issue that spawned the Maori Party. And now these very racists are the bosom buddies of John Key! Key is preparing to do what even Helen Clark was not prepared to do! If Phil Goff wanted to truly be a heroic leader, he ought to seize the opportunity to appropriate the Brash policies for Labour and carry them through. This would guarantee him victory at election time and a truly honorable place in NZ history.

Surely the National Socialists are not racists? They can't be. Surely not?
