Friday Afternoon Ramble:

“The basic and crucial political issue of our age is: capitalism versus socialism, or
freedom versus statism. For decades, this issue has been silenced, suppressed, evaded,
and hidden under the foggy, undefined rubber-terms of
‘conservatism’ and ‘liberalism’
which had lost their original meaning and could be stretched to mean all things to all men.
“The goal of the ‘liberals’—as it emerges from the record of the past decades—was to
smuggle this country into welfare statism by means of single, concrete, specific
measures, enlarging the power of the government a step at a time, never permitting
these steps to be summed up into principles, never permitting their direction to be
identified or the basic issue to be named. Thus statism was to come, not by vote or
by violence, but by slow rot—by a long process of evasion and epistemological corruption,
leading to a fait accompli. (The goal of the ‘
conservatives’ was only to retard that process.)”

Great stuff this Friday Peter! - I love the Thomas Sowell quotation.

The Truth about the Great Depression was interesting; pleased someone highlights the economic problems of the early 1920s and how quickly they ended.

I wake up in a foreign land, its only Friday and already PC gives me enough reading to sabotage my life, and a struggle with for the next week.
I was feeling brave this week, so I wrote to the Bangkok Post, I said "Capitalism is a crime, Global warming has created poor people, send money to Africa West here " from the peoples group, no evidence required.
It was printed , and I included wrote a fake Thai name.
And then in another letter , different name, Western , Paul Scott I said ' Global warming Science is flawed" and i gave much evidence , not printed.
It is a David and Goliath thing , I am a denier, I should be refused the vote, I can be called any malicious name they wish to give me,, too bad its only Friday ,I have so much more to learn before tomorrow morning
