“The referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU has thrown many things into sharp relief. It has made more visible the fraying of the Tory Party that has been brewing for a few decades now. It has demonstrated that the politics of fear is everywhere, being peddled by both the Leave and Stay campaigns, and even being openly celebrated by one pro-EU columnist on the basis that ‘fear alone has a purity you can trust’. But most strikingly, the referendum campaign has confirmed the death, or at least utter exhaustion, of a left that believes in democracy, in change, in people. In throwing its weight behind the Stay campaign, having historically been suspicious of the EU, the left has completed its journey from demanding democracy to supporting technocracy.”

“The New York primary was a game changer — for the self-generated and self-reinforcing media narrative… New York is not a new dawn but the latest chapter in a story that has been clear for some time now. A wounded and divisive front-runner is still shambling toward the nomination in the weakest condition of any leading Republican in memory, sporting the most toxic general-election numbers of any candidate in memory. This story may be so well known that it demands dramatic, overhyped momentum swings to spice it up in the media, but the basic outline is unchanged… Trump advanced his salient in New York, but that’s not a breakout.”

“So we’re not yet at the point where absolutely everything has to go right for Trump to clinch 1,237 delegates after California; although he can’t afford major setbacks such as losing Indiana or Maryland.
“Keep in mind, however, that the question of whether Trump will get 1,237 bound delegates by California is not the same as the question of whether he’ll win the Republican nomination. If he’s close, Trump could still get some uncommitted delegates to come along with him — especially some of the 54 from Pennsylvania if he wins that state. He could also win on the second or later ballot in Cleveland, although I wouldn’t want to count on that if I were in Trump’s shoes.”

“On Earth Day, according to various advocates, ‘events are held worldwide to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment.’ As we observe the event … it might be a good time to appreciate the fact that [we] get most of their plentiful, affordable energy directly from the Earth’s ‘natural environment’ in the form of fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum).
“It’s largely those natural energy sources that fuel our vehicles and airplanes; heat, cool, and light our homes and businesses; and power our factories, and in the process significantly raise our standard of living. Shouldn’t that be part of ‘increasing our awareness and appreciation of Earth’s natural environment’ — to celebrate Mother Earth’s bountiful natural resources in the form of abundant, low-cost fossil fuels?”

“Euro-Islamism springs from decades of cultural cringe"

Typical brains trust don't know their elbow from their asshole

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic rule. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called ‘hypocrites’ and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter.

Quran (17:16) – “And when We wish to destroy a town, We send Our commandment to the people of it who lead easy lives, but they transgress therein; thus the word proves true against it, so We destroy it with utter destruction.”

Quran (2:191-193) – “And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing”

Quran (8:12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them”

Quran (4:89) – “They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): But take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah (From what is forbidden). But if they turn renegades, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks.”

Quran (4:95) – “Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with their wealth and their lives. Allah has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home).

Quran (5:33) – “The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His messenger and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned; this shall be as a disgrace for them in this world, and in the hereafter they shall have a grievous chastisement”

Quran (8:67) – “It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war until he had made a great slaughter in the land”

Quran (9:5) – “So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them.”

Quran (9:14) – “Fight against them so that Allah will punish them by your hands and disgrace them and give you victory over them and heal the breasts of a believing people.”

Quran (25:52) – “Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness…” “Strive against” meaning JIHAD

All you quote is fully acknowledged, Jamie. Even fully acknowledged in the piece(s) above that you haven't read. The point is that the individual Muslim is for the most part far better in every respect than their own prophet -- and the individual European Muslim often values the West more than most Westerners, who will spit on their own culture without compunction.

Indeed, we know that most Muslims aren't bombers. If they were, we really would be in trouble. And it seems from the evidence (remember evidence, Jamie) that for all the barbarity of their holy book the Muslims who do hate the West and do worship death are not even among the most devout - those who carried out the Brussels attack etc. being those who barely went to mosque.

I didn't notice it being fully acknowledged. The article blamed Western cultural cringe for the atrocities of the Mujahideen rather than blaming Islam. The fact is, even if there was no such thing as Western cultural cringe (and it really is a leftist war against reason and civilisation) Islam is at the heart of their actions - not Western cultural cringe.

Richard Wiig said...

"Indeed, we know that most Muslims aren't bombers."

Islamic law doesn't require most Muslims to be bombers. The purpose of terror attacks is to soften up opposition to the advance of Islam. It is working well for them in that regard, so that most Muslims aren't bombers is of no value.

" If they were, we really would be in trouble."

Islam is advancing fast, so we are in trouble.

"And it seems from the evidence (remember evidence, Jamie) that for all the barbarity of their holy book the Muslims who do hate the West and do worship death are not even among the most devout - those who carried out the Brussels attack etc. being those who barely went to mosque."

And that they didn't go to a mosque (according to the Taqiyya artist who wrote the article you're referring to) it means they're not devout Muslims? That of course is a non-sequitur, and you know it.
